Over 30 years commercial banking experience and debt finance experience, successfully leading multi-disciplined teams of commercial bankers and leveraged / structured debt finance specialists within a major UK Bank and a successful alternative lender.

Peter has significant experience of working alongside business owners, shareholders, private equity investors as they consider growth, M&A and fund-raising options.

Education

Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers exams (ACIB) in 1991

Institute of Directors (IoD) certification for the Role of the Director and Board in 2019

Professional career

Joined Evolve Corporate Finance as Partner in June 2023

Head of Transaction Management at Thincats Ltd, a successful alternative lender providing senior debt funding solutions from £1m - £15m for small and medium businesses, overseeing delivery of over 120 transactions.

Regional Managing Director, Commercial Banking in the Midlands at NatWest Bank plc from 2017 until 2021, leading teams comprising ~150 FTE managing relationships with SME and corporate clients.

Head of Corporate Transactions from 2014 to 2017 within the Williams & Glyn team, a national role to build and lead a specialised team of bankers to originate and execute structured and leveraged debt transactions.

Leveraged and Structured Finance roles at NatWest Bank / RBS in the Midlands from 2001 until 2013, culminating as Managing Director, Financial Sponsors, Midlands from 2010, leading a team of 15 corporate finance professionals focused on the origination, structuring and execution of complex and often highly leveraged private equity backed transactions.

Interests

Peter is married with 3 children, only one of which still lives at home. His interests include spending time socialising with family and friends, playing golf, keeping fit and watching / attending sporting events, primarily football as two of his sons play semi-professionally and rugby where he regularly attends England matches.
